Using and Caring for Your Beeswax Wraps

Using your beeswax wraps

The combination of beeswax, tree resin and jojoba oil means that the cotton fabric is malleable at room temperature. Using the warmth and pressure of your hands you can mould it around any dish or bowl.

For items such as sandwiches or home baking we suggest using your beeswax wrap in the same way you would use waxed paper. Alternatively, you can press and fold the edges to make pouches for smaller snack items.

Reusable beeswax food wraps are not suitable for raw meat as you are only cold washing them (cooked meat and deli meats are fine), nor can they be used with pineapple due to an enzyme in pineapple that eats away at the wax, resin and oil.

Caring for your Bee Green Food Wraps

Your reusable beeswax food wraps are just that - reusable! Your wraps can be used over and over again as long as the care instructions are followed - these Bee Green wraps will last for months and months.

Between uses, simply wipe down your Bee Green wraps with a clean damp cloth, or hand wash in cold water. Only use a mild detergent if really necessary - wash your reusable food wrap as if it were a plate and not a piece of fabric.

Please do not wring out your reusable beeswax wraps, either pat dry with a towel or air dry. Your Bee Green wraps are best stored flat or rolled in a dry place like your tea towel drawer.

When your wraps have done their dash they can be composted, buried in the ground, used as fire starters, or cut in to strips to tie up your tomatoes.

Wash under the cold tap with a small amount of detergent (plant based/eco is best)
